There's nothing better than a big bowl of hot home-made soup at this time of year. I made this today, it was the perfect meal to ward off the freezing cold weather we are having at the moment, plus it's full of loads of super nutritious veggies and some great supportive spices too.
Using black pepper and turmeric together when cooking it has been suggested it helps low moods and the black pepper helps the body absorb the anti-inflammatory benefits of turmeric. The black pepper also adds a warmth, without over powering the taste of the vegetables or making it too spicy for those who don't like spice.
You can add anything to this to serve, left over roast meat, roast salmon, other fish, quinoa. beans, grilled bacon chopped up into little bits, the choices are endless, or simply have it on its own,
