A warm welcome to Gyl Rae Art. Here you will find more than beautiful art work to buy, blogs to read, online art courses and weekend workshops to attend. You'll find an amazing woman sharing her passion, honesty and joy with the world.
Gyl Rae loves expressing through art, she always has done since she was a little girl. She has always loved painting and drawing as far back as she can remember, it's all she ever wanted to do, was paint and work as an artist.
Sheis fascinated by light and colour, and loves nothing more than with playing with light, patterns, marks, colours and shapes, you can see this in all her work. Inspired by her deep connection with nature and the world around her. She sees the magic in every moment, in every person, often where others may see the mundane. She still has that joy and wonderment of a child she can't contain, and get's excited by the rise of the sun, a bird hopping from one brach to another, sunlight shining through the trees, the amazing colours and detail in nature, the brightness of a beautiful moon, and so much more, that pages of books could be written on it.
For Gyl - art is about space. The space to be, connect, it is about creating space in our body, and expressing.
Gyl has worked; lecturing and teaching in the field of art and design for further education, secondary and primary schools; worked for the Scottish Arts Council at the Venice Biennale; NHS delivering art sessions; Dundee Contemporary Arts as a workshop artists, gallery technician and exhibition invigilator.
