About Gyl Rae
Gyl currently works as a visiting arts specialist for the primary school sector. Working with a variety of children and age groups covering many aspects of art and design, not to mention lots of playfulness singing in the corridors and dancing along the way.
Prior to this Gyl worked in high school teaching art and design and ran her own business working in the field of emotional, social, physical and mental health and well being for children. Delivering 1:1 and group sessions from nursery age to high school, alongside CPD sessions in schools and Universities for teaching staff and trainee teachers.
She has worked extensively in the arts field from lecturing in further education, working with the NHS, delivering workshops to children and teachers in award winning international galleries, installing exhibitions, and working for the British and Scottish Arts Council at the Venice Biennale.
Gyl also has extensive professional training and experience in the health and well-being industry, having worked as a personal trainer, fitness instructor, complementary health practitioner, yoga and swim teacher. Although currently not working in this field, health and well- being is something very close to Gyl's heart which she lives everyday.
Gyl has a passion for everything in life, people, dancing, health and wellbeing, fitness, walking, photography, cooking, teaching, truth, nature and family to name but a few.
Her main passion in education lies at the fundamental foundation that life is about people first, before whatever subject we teach.
